1938 - 1940, very interesting lot with 5 special postmark examples: 42 Pfg "Brown Band" 1938 (Mi number 671), 1939 (Mi number 699) and 1940 (Mi number 747), each on a small-format, postage-paid registered letter with a special postmark from the corresponding equestrian event in Munich Riem. Also, the 25 Pfg special stamp "70 Years of the German Derby" from 1939 (Mi number 698) as a mixed franking with an 12 Pfg Hindenburg postage stamp on a small-format registered letter, with the corresponding special postmark from the equestrian event in Hamburg. And the overprint issue for the Nuerburgring race of 1939 (Mi number 695-97) as a set franking on a small-format, almost postage-paid registered letter (1 Pfg overpaid) with the corresponding special postmark from the Nuerburgring (Eifel) for the corresponding race. All examples are genuinely used and sent to Wittenberg, with reverse arrival stamps and in very good, flawless condition. The special postmarks are listed in the German Michel Spezialkatalog, but not valued. Already for the normal letter valuation, a high value.
